» Plymouth, Devon

Basing ourselves at the Mountbatten Centre on Plymouth Hooe, the only travelling one has to do other than to the dive sites is via water taxi to the centre of Plymouth for a meal out in the evening. Deep Blue Diving is based round the back of the centre so not only do you have on-site air fills but you also have direct access to expert advice and you can book your next training course in person.

Plymouth is great for all levels of divers. As well as a plethora of shallow scenics and drifts, the novice diver would dive on the recently sunk HMS Syclla () or on the James Egan Layne () – look out for the shoaling sea bass on the broken off stern of the ship.

Intermediate dives feature the Elk (), the Rosehill () and the Persier (), with the Oregon () and the Maine () pushing on into the advanced range.

The technical diver might find himself on theTotnes Castle (), for a warm-up dive, scudding along the bottom of Hands deeps (), a great scenic dive or swimming across the bridge of the Medoc ().
